The Resource Library
Every source is free, clinician written and current. Australian sources first, because they match the guidelines and the health system Leo actually uses.
Primary Australian Sources
Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne — Kids Health Info. The GP's core recommendation and the backbone of this curriculum. Over 340 fact sheets browsable A to Z or by category, each written and reviewed by RCH clinicians, with a free app, videos and a podcast. Best for specific conditions, symptoms, medication safety, and the somatic symptoms series.
Sydney Children's Hospitals Network — Kids Health Hub. The NSW equivalent, from the largest paediatric health entity in Australia, with a fact sheet library and hub sections on being prepared for illness, immunisation, safety, growth, activity, nutrition, sleep, screens and parent education. Best for NSW care pathways, since Leo's care sits in the NSW system.
Raising Children Network. Australian Government funded and ad free, produced with the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and RCH. Organised by age and stage with a strong teens section. Best for the developmental and parenting context around health topics.
Healthdirect. Government health information with a symptom checker and a free 24 hour nurse line on 1800 022 222. Best for in the moment triage when deciding whether something needs a GP, urgent care or an ambulance.
Care Access
Cubcare — paediatric telehealth suggested by the GP: healthcare for a child from home, useful when attending in person is a barrier. Healthdirect nurse line — 1800 022 222, free, around the clock. Poisons Information Centre — 13 11 26. In an emergency, 000.
First Aid Training
Australian Red Cross — First Aid for Babies and Children covers CPR, choking, head injury, allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, fractures and common emergencies. St John Ambulance offers Caring for Babies and Kids in a relaxed non accredited format plus accredited CPR aligned to Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, with online delivery options.
International Corroboration
HealthyChildren.org — the American Academy of Pediatrics parent site, backed by 67,000 paediatricians, with strong Ages and Stages and teen sections. NHS conditions library — clearly written condition overviews and symptom guidance from the UK national health service.
